Payroll FAQ

When is Payday?

Paydays fall on the 1st and the 16th of each month.  If those dates fall on a Saturday or Sunday, payday will be on Friday.  A payroll calendar and holiday calendar may be found here:    https://personnel.alabama.gov/Employees

 

When does my payroll direct deposit become effective?

As soon as the information is received by OPS and entered into the system.

How are payroll checks distributed?

Via Direct Deposit.  You can access your pay stub through E-Map.  Once you are entered into the payroll system, you are assigned an ID number.  This ID number may be used to sign up through E-Map.  Call OPS for your ID. Your W-2 is also available on this site: https://emap.alabama.gov/public/login.aspx

How do I obtain a copy of my W-2?

Via E-map – see above.

How are address and name changes or corrections made for payroll files?

1) Notify Debra Montesano at OPS via email

*If name change is included in a divorce decree, please send that section to OPS

*If name change is by marriage, OPS needs marriage license

2) SEIB forms are available at https://www.alseib.org/

* Return the form directly to SEIB

*Please also set up a mySEIB account through this website

3) Retirement change forms are available at https://www.rsa-al.gov/ers/forms/

*return the form directly to RSA

*Please also set up a Member Online Services account through this website

Use Member Online Services to:

  • View your account details
  • Update your contact information
  • Make requests to the RSA
  • Check the status of your requests
New Employee Paperwork

Your new hire paperwork may be obtained from your office manager.  Forms to be completed include Direct Deposit Form, Tax withholding forms, I-9, State Employees Insurance Board Forms (please see here under New State Employees https://www.alseib.org/HealthInsurance/SEHIP/Forms.aspx) and Retirement Enrollment Form. These forms are forwarded to OPS
